The Team



Naureen is a Researcher at Stargazers. She was previously a legal researcher at Harvard International Human Rights Clinic, and has provided research on international, regional and comparative instruments relating to women’s rights. She was part of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women country reports at the Commonwealth Secretariat, and has worked as a Women in crisis caseworker at the British Red Cross.

Naureen has a LLB Law from University College London and a LLM at Harvard Law School.



Marlon is Advisor to Stargazers on the Stargazers Fellowship Program. He is Head of Mxit Reach, Founder of Reconstructed Living Lab (RLabs) and more recently founded an Impact Investment Fund focussed on unearthing hidden innovations on the African continent.

Mxit is Africa’s biggest social network and provide an open platform for social innovators. RLabs is a social enterprise organization that empowers local and global communities in disadvantaged contexts by developing amazing new innovations to meet local and international needs. RLabs currently operates across 4 continents in 17 countries. All the projects are by the people, for the people. Such initiatives have created the world’s first Mobile Counseling/Support Platform (JamiiX) where counseling and support is provided to over 2.5 Million people across Southern Africa in the areas of HIV/AIDS, depression, substance abuse, child abuse and other social issues causing tension in communities. It is said that not too long ago when Marlon was “pushing trolleys” at the airport he thought that information technology had something to do with the CIA. It is also said that Marlon is the ultimate social entrepreneur, a man with a considerable brain, but an even bigger heart. The Mail and Guardian nominated him in 2009 and 2010 as one of the Top Young South Africans. He was recently also accepted as one of President Obama’s Young African Leaders.



Anusha is Initiative Director of the Anantara Initiative at Stargazers. She has nearly ten years of experience covering the areas of policy research, development programming and knowledge management, as well as teaching and capacity building activities. Previously, she has engaged with international development agencies, universities, government think tanks and non-profit organizations. She also serves as an independent consultant on institutional publications and knowledge projects.

Anusha has a Masters degree in Politics (specializing in International Relations) and an M.Phil. in International Organization from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She is also working towards obtaining her PhD in this field.



Anjana has been working in the field of education for about 20 years. She is well trained in setting up systems of a school and has held responsible posts in some prestigious schools of Mumbai. She presently heads a secondary school in Navi Mumbai.

She is well versed with the national and international curriculums followed in India and specializes in the use of technology in education. She believes in adopting the best practices in education to enhance instruction.

A Graduate in Life Sciences and Education, she holds a Masters degree in English Literature and also in Educational Technology and Computer Applications.



Dr Vasundhara is Advisor to Stargazers on the Anantara Initiative. She has 27 years of teaching experience working as a reader in the department of political science at Women’s Degree College in Nizamabad, India, and as a principal at P.G.Centre. She was the recipient of ‘Sri Satya Sai Baba Gold Medal’, Osmania University, Hyderabad for outstanding performance in NSS in the academic year 1982-83. She was also awarded as the Best Women of the District (Social Service) in the year 2007 by the District Authorities, and achieved Meesala award for excellence in the field of social work.

Dr Vasundhara aims to give scope to update knowledge and skills in accordance with latest trends. She aspires to utilize the innovative techniques in teaching, and is fond of engaging the masses and elite through the speeches with live examples.



Sanjeev is Chief Administration Officer at The Stargazers Foundation. He has 22 years of service in the Indian Air Force, serving as pilot, and then on various administrative roles of responsibility. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy.



Sophie is Director of Media and Video Production at Stargazers. For more than ten years Sophie has been actively engaged at the crossroads of the creative arts and technology.

Sophie has a PhD in Information Systems from University of Paris during which she was a fellow at New York University in the Culture and Communication department.



Abhishek is Technology manager of Stargazer’s Anantara Initiative. He is a technology enthusiast with keen interest in Robotics. His past projects include designing an Automated Garden Watering System – an innovation which could detect which patch of land is running dry and direct the precise water supply accordingly. Recently, he has also co-developed an Intelligent Home Automation System which bagged the 3rd national prize at Schnieder’s Innovation Challenge 2012.



Vikram is Technology and Design Director at Stargazers. He currently works as an Associate Program Manager of Technology and User Experience at MicroStrategy, a Washington DC area based Technology company.

Vikram has a Masters in Human Computer Interaction from the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and an undergraduate degree in Interaction Design from the Indian Institute of Technology.



Hatim is CEO at Stargazers. He also heads up the Innovation by Youth program. He has worked for 6 years at Alcatel Lucent, advising on technology solutions with a focus on developing countries within the Middle East. He has worked in the company’s offices in France, India and currently Egypt.

Hatim has a Masters in engineering from the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Lyon.



Miniya is the founder of The Stargazers Foundation. She works at the World Economic Forum in Geneva where she is a Senior Manager for Middle East, North Africa and South Asia regions for Young Global Leaders.

In a previous life Miniya was making investments in hedge funds as analyst and Manager of 2 Funds of Hedge Funds of $200 million assets under management in Paris, and before that was managing wealth for the ultra rich at Goldman Sachs in London. She is a member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds.

Miniya has a PhD in Political Science from Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris during which she was a long term fellow at Columbia University New York and Harvard University.
